Throwback Thursday: 40 of My Favorite Things

I turned 40 today. I don’t necessarily feel any different than when I turned 39 last year but everyone is telling me this is a big one. So, in celebration of this big one, I’ve decided to look over the past 40 years and pick out my favorite film, album, game, or book from each year. (I started to write explanations for everything but it was all sounding very similar as I was apologizing for having to cut things, so I cut the commentary too).

 Halloween

 Alien

 AC/DC’s Back in Black

 Ms. Pac-Man

 Michael Jackson’s Thriller

 Return of the Jedi

 Tetris

 Super Mario Bros.

 Aliens

Guns N’ Roses’s Appetite for Destruction

 Willow

 DuckTales

 Stephen King’s Four Past Midnight

 Beauty and the Beast

 Timothy Zahn’s Dark Force Rising

 NHL ’94

 Star Wars TIE Fighter

 Apollo 13

 The Rock

 Stephen King’s Wizard and Glass

 Resident Evil 2

 Michael Crichton’s Timeline

 Final Fantasy IX

 The Fast and the Furious

 Christopher Moore’s Lamb

 Sister Hazel’s Chasing Daylight

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

 Batman Begins

 Gears of War

 Alter Bridge’s Blackbird

 The Dark Knight

 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

 Pac-Man Championship Edition DX

 Dead Space 2

 Pitch Perfect

 Darius Rucker’s Souther Style

 Diablo III: Reaper of Souls

 Jenny Lawson’s Furiously Happy

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

 Super Mario Odyssey

So there you go, 40 of my favorite things. Don’t mistake this as my 40 favorite things because there is a lot that had to get cut to cultivate this list, a lot were really hard to do (like Halo Reach and The Force Awakens) but I wanted to show a slight bit of range (focus on slight). Anyway, here is to another year.
